Incredibly nice people, nice open-air patio on the water out back, loved the halibut and crab melt. The chowder didn't seem to have any clams so it wasn't my favorite but everything else made up for it. Highly recommend!

I need to return and try them out again. Last time they were out of chowder at 1pm on a Saturday. Also the cook wasn't available and all we were offered was shrimp cocktails. Granted they were good enough to earn 3 stars. The last time tried them out was a few years ago. Maybe next trip to seaside I'll stop and give them another shot.

Was super excited to try this place after seeing pictures online. The halibut was tender and moist, the coleslaw was amazing with the pineapple! But the fries looked like we got the scraps from the bottom of the fryer and the chowder was Luke warm. Other than that it was a cute little spot by the river with nice views and yummy food!

Nice crispy fried tuna. Chips were cooked perfect as well.

Solid roadside seafood. Skip the melts and go straight for the fish and chips, or just a Styrofoam cup full of shrimp cocktail. either way, the only beverages you'll find here are going to be soda pop. So we also suggest you sneak in a beer. Eat outside.

Fresh fish and friendly people.

I went here once and tried getting some lunch. I heard the clam chowder was good so we went in and they said to wait 30 mins, we waited 40 mins and went back in, they then said they weren't serving food anymore, mind you this was early afternoon. I went back the other day to get some clam chowder, ordered over the phone to attempt avoiding that fiasco again, the lady was rude about it. When we picked up the clam chowder it was super bland and tasteless, more carrots in it than anything else. Save your money on lunch and go elsewhere. I can't speak for the actual fresh caught stuff but just not good for lunch.

This place is a family tradition for us. Every time we come to the coast we stop by for crab and shrimp cocktails (BEST AROUND!) and smoked fish snacks. Typically we go into the deli side, but occasionally we stop by the restaurant next door for a more substantial meal. This place is a small town hit! No frills, don't expect fast service, and they have a super friendly staff. Outdoor seating along the river if weather permits.

Very impressed with the food at this little place! We got cod, halibut and a shrimp melt. All of it was delicious, very fresh. The chowder was a little different than what I'm used to, but still very good! Service was great. Highly recommend!

If you had just one shot to eat wonderful seafood that you’ve always wanted, would you capture it, or just let it slip? Well, I had one shot at Oregon seafood while in Portland for a wedding. We came here and it was a delightful experience. We had the razor clams with chips and slaw, and every element was fresh and wonderfully prepared. The staff were amazing, attentive and delightful to talk to. They even gave us tips for seeing the beach with a minimum of crowd interference. What a great find this place was for the culmination of a a couple-hour getaway!

I can always count on excellent fresh seafood and fish from Bell Buoy. Last weekend I had to have 1lb of crab legs (separated into 1/2 lb containers), and bay shrimp (1/2 lb). Added a can of their own razor clam chowder for later in the month. My boss loved her crab legs, and I will continue to remain a loyal customer! Bell Buoy ROCKS consistently 💓🦀🦐🐟

Always fresh, local seafood!!! We stop EVERY time we visit the coast!! From crab leg meat to homemade dips and speads.....plenty of smoked fish options too!! Bell Buoy of Seaside is our favorite!

We have been stopping here for years to get crab cocktails and clam chowder. We stopped last weekend for our usual to go goodies, and were very disappointed that the chowder has changed. So much garlic in it, smelled like a garlic festival in my house when I heated it up. I'm sorry, but you have now rated lower than Mo's on your chowder! Still love the store side, the crab cocktails are the best! Garlic does not belong in clam chowder!!

Try the halibut fish n' chips. Its their signature dish and goes perfectly with the cole slaw that has a key secret ingredient: crushed pineapple! Must have if you are visiting Seaside. Also, try their clam chowder: its briney, creamy, and full of big clams.

Terrible experience. The lady behind the counter was the rudest person I've ever experienced in a restaurant and/or store. We asked her why she was being so rude and she doubled down. Looking at recent reviews this is clearly a pattern here. Please be kind to others, there are enough mean people in the world already. Kindness matters.

One of the workers dumped chowder on one of our grounds groups head. The other was extremely rude and demanded more money for something we never ordered. Do not go there!!!!

Halibut fish n chips. Breading is light perfectly light more fish than breading and fish supposedly caught this morning. I have no reason not to believe. Tasted fresh. Price a little spendy for small pieces at $14 for three pieces but if that money goes to local fisherman they could charge more. Waffle fries were perfectly cooked. Small portion which is good to keep me healthy appropriate portion. Definitely try it out. Clam chowder will be my next visit. It didn’t fly off the menu so I missed it. Will Be Back.

Such friendly and accommodating staff! I had fried cod - the juiciest, flakiest, melt in your mouth cod I've ever had. Breading is super light and crispy. I never write reviews but felt they more than deserved the shout out!

The food is delicious and the staff is wonderful.

The clam chowder today was gross. We couldn't eat it. It tasted like potatoes vegetables and flour. Mostly flour. The crackers were stale. Very disappointed because we have had great food here.

The party mix and smoked oysters are a screaming deal...worth every penny. Ask for samples and ideas for eating. Staff is wonderful and anything under that deli counter is worth its weight in gold.

Absolutely the best seafood I've had in a long time! I had the razor clams and was super surprised at how tender they were and I had a full cook crab and it was amazing with the drawn butter. The two ladies that were working were very friendly. I tend to judge a food establishment by their coleslaw and they also hit the nail on the head with that. See you next time we're in town!

Best fish & chips in Seaside!

There is currently a very understandable precaution in place at Bell Buoy that only two customers are allowed inside for COVID regulations. I was already inside when the other second person left, so then my sister who was next in line, entered. As soon as the lady behind the register realized we knew each other she yelled “only customers in here! One of you need to get out!” My sister then said she was a customer, completely confused why she was yelling at us. She then said “unless you’re both buying things separately you need to leave so a customer can come in.” So my sister said “yes I was buying something but definitely not anymore,” and the lady rolled her eyes and waved us off. We told her that was extremely rude and we would not be coming back and she continued to wave us off. There are many amazing seafood markets on the Oregon coast who need your business—do not give your money to this one!

Really fresh seafood market! One of the few on hwy 99 that you can buy live razor clams and oysters. Excellent shrimp and crab cocktail. They also have smoked seafood. They are still a working fish processing and smokehouse.If you want to you can also pre-order for pickup on their website or by phone.

Some of the best cold water seafood you’ll find anywhere! This is now my go to spot when I come to the coast! We tried 3 of the dishes, and each were delicious. I recommend the halibut basket and the crab melt, both were delicious and worth coming back for!

Went there and was looking for oyster and clams. We were asked to put mask on and that was fine. (Mask on)We immediately went inside and was looking around and suddenly the lady in the counter told us to wait outside again because shes still attending to 2 costumers. Its just disappointing because she could said it at once not like put your mask on and then when were inside she said another thing again. We left and didnt even look back anymore. We felt embarrassed. I just hope she didnt act that way because we are asians.

Tiny little place on the roadside in Seaside. My husband had clam chowder with salmon. The clam chowder was pretty salty for my taste but my husband loved it.I had the razor clams. They were so tender, so good! The Cole slaw with pineapple is wonderful! We're staying in Seaside for a week and I will be back, probably just for more razor clams. Totally worth stopping!!

We stayed in seaside, OR for one night and had their takeout crab, salmon fish and crab cocktail! It was honestly, delicious and we came back the next day to buy a lb of crab! 1 lb of crab meat - $39 / lb (market price) The lady also helped put it on ice since we had a long drive home! <3Also, reading the below reviews...I am not sure what the issue is with the people that didn’t wear masks coming in the store...it’s been best practice and this is a small store with people who live in an extremely touristy town. Especially as visitors to a small town, we should wear masks even if there isn’t a sign. It should be common knowledge!! Please do not bring your whole family into the store guys...there was a family that decided to all walk in...right behind me. They completely disregarded the sign that said 2 people in the store at once & I was already one person. Mask on and be respectful of small businesses. They can’t do this alone!!

I've been going to this place since I was little. I walked in anf planned to drop a good amount of money on crab meat for my birthday. I didn't see any signs that masks were required and they raised their voices and yelled for me to get out without a mask. I wouldn't have had an issue grabbing a mask, but to be treated that way is uncalled for and will be finding a different place for my crab.

Took 2 cleaned crabs to eat tonight! Yummm! Never disappoints. Simply the best!!

it was pretty good... might have scored higher regular French fries and malts vinegar. not big on criss cross or waffle fries. I enjoyed the Sea food store across the way the pepperd salmon was very good
